Sept. 13 - Jeff Siemon and "Open Forum"
Annual Joint Meeting with Prayer Warriors and Women of Calvary

CMF is proud to welcome former Viking Jeff Siemon as our guest speaker for this event.   Jeff is Division Director at Search Ministries in Edina, Minn. Please join us for this Open Forum Event. One of Search's most popular and dynamic events is the "Open Forum."  The Open Forum is a gathering of friends for the purpose of interacting on significant life and God issues.  Normally, it takes place in a home or conference room where the guests enjoy eating, meeting each other, laughing and sharing their thoughts.  It is an authentic, stimulating discussion about basic life issues, not a Bible study, lecture series, or theological debate. The objective is to help people examine their philosophies of life.  Many people have never carefully evaluated their beliefs, and the Open Forum provides a comfortable environment to do this.  And since the Forum is "open," you pick the topics of conversation!

Jeff Siemon graduated from Stanford University in 1972, where he starred as a linebacker, playing on two Rose Bowl winning teams. At Stanford, he earned the Silver anniversary Dick Butkus award his senior year as the nation's top linebacker, and the Pop Warner Award as the top senior player on the West Coast. In 1972, he was drafted in the first round by the Vikings, for whom he played until he retired after the 1982 season. During that time, he played in three Super Bowls. After his NFL career, Jeff graduated from the Simon Greenleaf School of Law (M.A. in Christian Apologetics, 1984).

/files/image/YLCman.jpg/files/image/LCsidebar.gifThe Bible reminds us to live as wise men, making the most of every opportunity. (Eph 5:16). The Year of Living Courageously (YLC) workshop is your opportunity to make the next twelve months your most courageous.

YLC is a biblically-based approach to goal setting designed exclusively for men. You'll be challenged to think about your goals in a fresh and liberating way.
Unlike other goal setting programs you may have tried, YLC provides a framework for examining your goals in the context of three threats that men face. You'll be given the opportunity to draft goals that lean into, rather than away from, these threats. A courageous commitment to rely on God’s provision is a must.

This is no namby-pamby, feel-good, "I'm in charge of my own destiny" workshop. Instead, YLC is for those men who truly want to live more deeply and richly in what God intends for them. You can expect to:
   - Learn the three threats that prevent men from achieving their goals.
   - Predict the effect these threats may have on your goals.
   - Create meaningful and achievable goals.
   - Develop an accountability system that works.
   - Record and evaluate your progress throughout the next twelve months.
