Whether you are looking for a one-time or ongoing serving opportunity, you're sure to find a just-the-right-fit experience with us, be it serving others or serving the Calvary community.

Not sure what specific serving opportunity makes sense for you? Submit Calvary's Personal Serving Inventory form indicating your interest(s) and availibility, and a Calvary staff member will contact you.

 

Serving others

Join us in a number of opportunities that help us extend God's love to others and serve them in their current needs. 

Families Moving Forward

Several times a year, we host families in transition through Families Moving Forward. These families spend the evenings at Calvary for a week at a time. During the weeks they are here, we need help with making and serving dinner or breakfast, playing with the children, talking with the families, and helping out wherever needed. Food shelf donations

Bring your food shelf donations to Calvary ... with special consideration for the hungry children in our community! Suggested donations include:

* Mac and cheese or Easy Mac
* Granola bars, crackers, cereal
* Applesauce or other fruit
* Tuna fish or chicken
* Juice boxes or bottles of fruit juice
* Peanut butter and jelly
* Healthy snack foods

Hands for the Harvest

Help cultivate and harvest potatoes in Green Isle, Minn., for our local foodshelves. Questions? Contact Travis Dahlke or learn more through Hands for the Harvest.

 

Hands, Heart and Hammers

3rd Saturday of the month

Work with local homeowners and other volunteers in repair and clean-up jobs, including outdoor yard clean-up, mowing on a special-needs basis, bush trimming, house painting, other light repairs, etc.

Kinship

Change a child's life by being a mentor/friend to a child through Kinship. Call 612.588.4655.

 

PRISM

Volunteer as a group to help sort and restock the food shelves, arrange the clothes closet, assist with car repairs and help with other projects around PRISM. 

PRISM is located at 730 Florida Avenue--close to church and easy to get to. Early evening hours are available. Call 763.529.1350.   

 

School supply donations

Collected in August

Help low-income kids start school right through our partners at Plymouth Christian Youth Center, PRISM, Lutheran Social Service and Redeemer. When you shop for your kids, buy another set for a child in need. Our partners accept:

* Backpacks
* Calculators
* Erasers (big pink ones)
* Glue sticks
* Highlighters
* Pens
* Mechanical or regular pencils
* Pocket folders (plain colors)
* Scissors (kid sizes)
* Washable markers

Serving Calvary

There are also numerous ways that you can enhance the experience of those who come to Calvary for worship and other events.  

Alpha meals

Help to serve dinner and clean up prior to Alpha classes. There are also one-time opportunities to help serve meals during Alpha retreats. Contact Carol Skjegstad by e-mail or at 763.231.2983 for dates and times.


Building & grounds maintenance

Help with various projects around our building and grounds. Contact Craig Rothfolk by e-mail or at 763.231.2959.


Communion servers

Confirmation special events

Help with registration, greeting or hospitality at various events for our confirmation program. Contact Kathy Brown by e-mail or at 763.231.2971.
