Introduction to Baptism

By water and the Holy Spirit we are made members of the Church which is the body of Christ. Baptism workshops for parents, expectant parents and sponsors are held on the 1st Sunday of each month at 11:15 a.m.

To prepare for the service of Baptism we ask families to attend a one hour instructional that will -

• explore the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism
• help you plan for this event and
• answer any questions you might have.

When are Baptisms at Calvary?

Baptisms are typically offered at these times.

If you are interested in starting the process to schedule a baptism you may do so by using our on-line baptism form which will be submitted to Calvary electronically.

Note: Your baptism does not need to be scheduled before you attend the class.

Nursery

Calvary's nursery ministry is available for families with young children (infant up to age 5) to use on Sunday mornings at 8:45, 10:00, 11:15 and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. This ministry allows parents to participate in worship knowing that their children are in the loving care of our dedicated staff and volunteers. Our purpose is to nurture each child during their stay and to share the greatness of God's love for them. Please view Calvary's Nursery Brochure (PDF) to find out more.

You may also print and fill out a Nursery Registration Form to bring to Calvary and leave with a Nursery attendant.

Welcome Bags

Calvary wants to foster a sense of belonging in worship for young children. Welcome bags for children are located at the main ushers desk in the Narthex. Each bag includes quiet activities and crayons for your child to use during service.

Faith Formation

1st Anniversary of Baptism

Calvary celebrates all baptisms from the previous year on the day of Jesus' Baptism. In addition, baptisms are recognized during the worship services on Sunday morning and Thursday evening.

Christian Parenting Classes

Calvary offers support in the incredible journey of parenting and faith building for your family. Our monthly parenting classes offer ideas, information, encouragement and support on your journey of parenting and faith building in your family.

Teensy Tots is for parents and children birth to 1. Class meets for one hour every 3rd Sunday of the month at 8:45 or 10:00 a.m. Our class topics will center on how to encourage faith development in your child's faith journey at this early age.

Tiny Tots is for parents and children age 1 to 2. Class meets for one hour every 2nd Sunday of the month at 8:45 or 10:00 a.m. Parents spend the first 15 minutes with their children doing an activity together. The next 45 minutes are spent apart. Parents retreat to a discussion room where they interact with a presenter and other parents. Children stay with leaders to play games, hear Bible stories and engage in many other faith building activities.
