What is the difference between Calvary's Early Childhood programs?
The early childhood programs were created to help families with all their educational needs from birth to age 5.
Our Pre-Kindergarten program offers a concentrated educational experience for children ages 2-½ to 5. Pre-K offers half-day classes, with a full-day option available for older children.
Calvary Hourly Childcare helps families with short-term care from as little as one hour a day to as much as five hours. A full curriculum is followed for both toddlers and preschoolers.
Pre-K families often lengthen their time at Calvary by using this service.
The Calvary Childcare Center offers full-time childcare with a preschool educational component built into the day. The center enrolls children ages 12 weeks to age 5.
How do I know my child is safe?
We have very explicit policies concerning safety within all our programs. All staff have undergone criminal background checks. We monitor very closely who comes through our doors, and the church has an Emergency Response & Crisis Plan.
To ensure the security of children in our care, each child is randomly assigned a security code number. Everyone on your child's "Authorized Pick-Up" and "Emergency Contact" lists will need to know the child's security code number and show photo identification when picking up the child.
How do you handle allergies?
Parents need to inform the center about any food allergies or other special diets. An allergy action plan will need to be completed by the family and the child"s physician explaining possible allergic triggers, reactions and treatment for such. Consideration will be given to any modified or therapeutic diet needs of a child as prescribed by his/her physician.
Do your programs follow state and accreditation standards?
We are committed to exceeding standards, goals and practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association and the Minnesota Department of Human Services Licensing Division.
What training do your teachers have?
Our programs are made up of warm and nurturing teachers with a combination of formal education and experience. Each year, our teachers are required to continue their learning in early childhood education.
