Feed Haiti 2015

The need in Haiti is still great. We're partnering with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) once again in hosting a MobilePack™ event for Haitian children. Our goal? To pack 750,000 meals and to raise $165,000 to fund them. Come make a difference with us!

Some of our food delivered to Haiti will be distributed by our ministry partner Healing Haiti.

New this year... A portion of the food packed at Calvary will be shared with Liberian children affected by the Ebola outbreak.

UPDATE (3/10/15): Goal reached thanks to your generosity!
Thank you to all those who volunteered and donated money to Feed Haiti 2015! Because of your generosity, we reached our goal to pack and fund 750,000 meals for Haitian and Liberian children. The meals are now on their way!

Packing will take place Jan. 25-31 at Calvary. Come as individuals, families, small groups, Scout groups, other community groups, businesses, etc., to help pack. Take part in scooping food, sealing food, weighing food and packing food in two-hour shifts.

See packing schedule>>

SPECIAL NOTE: Childcare for younger children will be available during the packing shift on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Reservations required by e-mail

Donate funds

At 22 cents a meal--approximately $50 per volunteer--we need to raise $165,000 to cover the cost of the meals we packed! To donate...

  • Make a donation online using our online giving form. Either log into your account or select "contribute as guest," then enter the amount of your donation in the form's "Other" field and type "Feed Haiti 2015" in the space below that.
  • Submit a check made payable to "Calvary Lutheran Church" and note "Feed Haiti 2015" in the memo line. If your employer or another organization will match your donation but does not honor donations made to churches, make your check payable to "Feed My Starving Children" and note "Account #1501-181" in the memo line. Send your check to Feed Haiti 2015, Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55427.
  • Fill an M&Ms container with quarters. Stop by the Atrium beginning Jan. 4 to buy a tube of M&Ms for $1. After enjoying your tasty treat, fill the tube with quarters ($14) and return to Calvary during Feed Haiti 2014.
  • Contribute through your weekly offering by noting "Feed Haiti 2015" on your offering envelope or check's memo line.

Consider other creative ways to raise your donation!

About Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian nonprofit hunger relief organization founded in 1987. Committed to "feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit," FMSC operates five permanent packing sites (Coon Rapids, Chanhassen, Eagan, Minn.; Aurora, Schaumburg, Ill.), as well as MobilePack events ... like Calvary's!

FMSC's MannaPack Rice meals provide the key nutrients a starving child needs to survive and thrive, and are distributed through various community settings: orphanages, schools, clinics, refugee camps and nutrition programs. Children in more than 60 countries receive FMSC food.

It's all possible through thousands of volunteers and donors! Volunteers pack 100 percent of the food, with each meal costing only 22 cents to produce. With 94 percent of total FMSC donations going directly to its feeding program, donations of all amounts go a long way in fighting hunger!
