Dear Friends,

I want to say a special thanks to everyone for a great weekend at Calvary. I heard nothing but glowing remarks about the services, the music, the message and the children’s musical. Thanks to all of our directors, volunteers, musicians, children, staff and others who were responsible for putting it all together. Everyone said it was a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration.

As I’m writing this, I’m looking out the window on a beautiful day. Can you believe how green everything is? We’re all hoping this kind of weather will last for our first outdoor service tomorrow (Thursday). Remember, the service begins at 6:30 p.m. During the summer months, we don’t have a meal on Thursday night, but we are looking at some options that we might try in the next couple weeks. I’ll let you know more about that as it develops.

We’ve been working on putting together the series Just Wondering for the summer months. Thanks to all of you who have submitted questions. I’ll be kicking it off with an introduction during the first weekend in June, and then we’ll deal with specific questions each week from there on out.

This Sunday, we have a chance both to hear from our music groups and to express our appreciation for all of their work throughout the year. We call it Music Sunday, but it’s really just a chance to focus on the wonderful music we have each week atCalvary. I don’t know how many times people tell me how they take for granted our wonderful music program, groups and soloists until they go to another church to worship. They then realize how blessed we are at Calvary week in and week out. You’ll also have a chance this weekend to hear a bit more from Calvary’s Senior Pastor Call Committee and how things are going there, as well as what each of us can do to support their work.

Have a great week. See you in worship!

Your Friend and Pastor,

Steve
