- CELEBRATE IN COMMUNITY
Our Future in 2007
With this clear vision, purpose and commitment---
We see...Calvary growing. 10,000 call Calvary their church home. We have felt the Holy Spirit at Calvary, have felt Calvary's sincere and real interest in us and we have been encouraged to identify our unique gifts in order to minister to others. 4,000 of us attend worship at Calvary each week and we host 12,000 visits to our facilities each week from members and guests. We give more than $7,500,000 a year to support Calvary and its ministries...transforming our world and building God's Kingdom, one person at a time.
We see...People growing. We have intentionally engaged all who come to Calvary and 3,000 of us have joined small groups where we study, serve, pray and care for each other. We passionately care for each of our members and all who come to us in time of crisis. We pray fervently for each other and for our world. We touch every facet of family life with outstanding life long learning, social, recreational and spiritual programs. We have received His grace and with grateful hearts are ready to share our joy with others...transforming our world and building God's Kingdom, one person at a time.
We see...Families growing. We have challenged all of us to view our home as church, where the home is equipped to be the primary place where faith is formed and nurtured. These families, connected to Calvary, create an exciting atmosphere where more than 2,500 children, youth and young adults, join together with people of all ages and say Calvary is the place to be. Calvary has indeed become our 'community' and we are eager to share it with everyone...transforming our world and building God's Kingdom, one person at a time.
We see...Ministry growing. Everyone is encouraged to have a ministry and more than 5,000 are engaged in service. We are outstanding at recognizing needs and equipping people with the gifts to meet the needs as we live each day in our work, our communities and our social relationships. His love for all, His concern for justice and mercy, His desire to meet all human needs, works through us in miraculous ways. We have woven His will through our ministries into the fabric of our communities. We support and minister with, and to, the ELCA. We minister to the needs of other churches and denominations by sharing our talents, knowledge and expertise. We have developed a center for learning, sharing and partnering in ministry. We partner with other institutions to minister to community needs in creative ways. We have planted or revitalized two churches. Indeed, we have become a hub, an incubator and a generator for ministry development...transforming our world and building God's Kingdom, one person at a time.
We see...Mission and Outreach growing. We enthusiastically support, and are personally involved, in mission activities locally and around the globe. We support missionaries on every continent. Each year 300 Calvary members are involved in mission and short-term service. We develop strong relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ around the world and bring them to Calvary to develop relationships with our members so we learn and grow in ministry together. We view each day as a mission where we witness and serve through a lifestyle of faithfulness as we live, work and play...transforming our world and building God's Kingdom, one person at a time.
We see...Him in Worship. We love to come together to worship our Lord Jesus Christ giving Him all thanks, praise, honor, and glory. We offer a rich, varietal bouquet of traditional and contemporary services. The gospel message is preached and taught with excellence and passion through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We multiply the message by delivering it through the optimum use of technology. We know that music is the language of the soul and we strive for excellence in all its expressions. We affirm our Lutheran heritage as well as modern innovations. Indeed, we embrace all expressions of the human soul that worship and praise Him, whether song, dance, art or drama. And the miracle continues...transforming our world and building God's Kingdom, one person at a time.
